*********** PAST EVENTS ***********
On Saturday, June 27, Atlanta Center Controllers came to Skybound Aviation for a meet and greet breakfast gathering for all pilots, students, and those interested in aviation. The event was awesome. A good time was had by all. One of our attendees, Dave Tulis, put together these photos for us.

Just read what a few our pilots have to say:
Having flown with the Skybound family over the last 3 years, I can honestly say it's the best, most affordable, flight school at Dekalb-Peachtree Airport. The instructors are top-notch, the schedules are convenient and the owners are customer-friendly. I earned all of my ratings/licenses at Skybound and will continue to rent their aircraft in the future. Being safe and gaining valuable experience is something you can bet on with Skybound instructors. - Lyle Perry, AirTran Airways
I grew up under the airspace of Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and probably spent as much time staring at airplanes flying over than much else in my childhood. Getting a pilot's license was a dream but a distant one for me. As an adult I would often feel the pull to hang out at the airport or read flying magazines but never took that first step. A good friend suggested that as a start I connect with his flight instructor Kerwin Day and the folks at Skybound Aviation just to get a better sense of what it would take. I have to say, after that first conversation I just HAD to take the first step of a discovery flight. The structured yet relaxed style of flight instruction that I was received was perfect. I had no interest in spending a lot of time on academic or classroom based learning but at Skybound I was immediately flying and learning the critical lessons alongside an instructor. The people at Skybound were all highly accessible, willing to help with questions, relaxed and enjoyable to learn with and from, and helped me to become both a safe, confident, and learning pilot. I received my private pilot license in April of 2007 and even though I have options to rent planes from other locations I still return to Skybound. They have a great mix of different planes to suit any particular mission and I know that I always have great instructors available should I need a refresher or additional learning. - Randy Walton, The Walton Group
If I could design a flight school for aviation enthusiasts that was tailored for those wanting to fly but are intimidated by science, math, work, family, and all the other things that life throws at you I could not have done better than Evanthe has done with Skybound. Skybound is attuned to the fact that we don't all have the luxury of total immersion that some flight schools require to track their students to corporate and commercial flying. Skybound can and does offer everything you need to move towards any aviation career you want, but I needed a school that understood I wanted to become a safe, competent owner operator whose flight missions were predominantly single engine 500 NM trips to the Gulf, the Coast, the Mountains and sometimes just a flight to shake off the weight of the world. What I love about Skybound is the fact that it offers me not only support for my ownership of a Cessna 172SP, but constant reaffirmation of what I've learned and a resource for the questions and training I want from time to time now that I have my license. Pascale Raynier was my principal instructor, but I've worked with Michael O'Neal and others as well and they are all professional. If want to break the chains of this earth, Skybound can and will help you do it at your pace, within your budget, and make you a proficient and safe pilot. Every time I land (which I've now done over a thousand times), I call and thank my instructor for making me respect the weather, wind, traffic, radio operations, and performance of my plane and the limitations of my health and mental state in every stage of flight from pre-flight to post flight. In a word, I'd say "awesome!" Go for it - and go for it at Skybound. Kevin Ward - Single Engine Land, Complex and High Performance endorsements, and IFR on the way. - Kevin Ward, Schulten Ward & Turner, LLP
Being able to fly and airplane has always been a dream of mine. When I first went to Skybound Aviation to inquire, I realized that dream could become a reality. Their positive, can do attitude, was inspirational in helping me on my journey. Once I began the course, I realized a lot of hard work and studying would soon follow. The crew at Skyboud made the transition from book study to in flight training seamless. Once I finally earned my certificate, a true sense of accomplishment and joy surrounded me! I couldn't have done it without the genuine interest from the Skybound team! Working in the Southeast portion of the country, I have benefited from being able to fly to different job-sites with ease. General Aviation is truly a close knit family and something that I wouldn't trade for the world! - Jack Brewster, Aaron Asphalt Contractors, Inc.
Flying has allowed me to experience first hand the ultimate sense of freedom. Meeting new people, establishing contacts and seeing other view points has helped me drastically in all facets of my life. What you can learn in an airplane far surpasses that of which any classroom or any one person ever can. The entire team at Skybound has always been more than willing to help and is always there for you as a student and beyond. Also, hats off to everyone for proudly sporting some of the most well maintained planes in the flight training industry. - Rohan Bhatia, Centennial Aviation Club, LLC
Learning to fly had a profound impact on my self confidence. Just the process of learning about the airplane systems, radio, navigation, take-offs and landings increased my skills in a new discipline and the extra self confidence is a by-product of my training. I never expected this to happen. Learning to fly gave me 'bragging rights'. All my friends are very interested in hearing about the last time I flew, where I went and what it was like. Being a 'pilot' gave me an opportunity to tell more interesting stories and hold conversational interest on a regular basis. Learning to fly brought me new friends. I have met a lot of wonderful people this year as a result of learning to fly, every time I go for a lesson, when I meet someone at the FBO, it feels like being in a great big family. It's great to be around people that have a passion for something. You don't often find that down at 'the office'. Learning to fly made me a safer driver. As a result of performing pre flight checks and learning to watch my instruments more closely and more often, I now actually perform a walk around my car before I hit the road, and I watch my instruments more. I also am more aware of the cars around me. Traffic is traffic on the ground, or in the air! Learning to fly was FUN FUN FUN. It is exciting and creates a lot of energy, emotion, and wonderful feelings. The only other activities I can think of that are it's equal would be riding a roller coaster, a top fuel dragster, or a surf board. - Steven Seale
Learning to fly is one of the best confidence boosters I can possibly imagine. When I first took the controls of an airplane I was a nervous wreck. But Melissa Bermudez is an awesome instructor and never showed anything but encouragement and support, even during my not-so-smooth initial landings. She and I worked hard for four months, and I became her first student to go all the way from newbie to private pilot. She and the rest of the folks at Skybound are great to work with, and the best FBO at PDK hands down. - Jeff Schlueter
As far as what flying provides for me, even though I don't do it nearly as often as I would like, it is what I am and what I was supposed to do. Anyone that has had the opportunity to experience that feeling when the wheels of a plane you are piloting leave the ground knows what I am talking about. I get just as excited now as I did when I took my first lesson 28 years ago. Competitive pricing and lack of minimum overnight and weekend time restrictions drew me to Skybound. My instructor, all of the people I have met so far associated with your business and the challenging airport environment have kept me there. It would be less expensive overall for me to rent out of 47A (Canton), but I prefer to stay with Skybound at PDK. - Rich Tomanio
Skybound Aviation has proven to me to be an excellent flight school if youre looking to get your private pilot license in a professional and flexible environment. Professional flight instructors with thousands or tens of thousands of flight hours who actually do this because they like it, not because they need a cheap way to collect flight hours. And they offer the flexibility to do this at your own pace. The last thing you want to do is learn to fly with an instructor who hardly has any experience him/herself! And you have a nice collection of high and low wing airplanes to choose from. Great job Skybound! I have not regretted one second my choice to learn to fly with you! Keep up the good work! And Pascale, dynamite! - Emmanuel De Marez
Flying is just plane awesome!!!
