Weekly Sample Schedule - Basic AeroCamp (Middle School Grades 6 - 8) (High School in RED) Minimum 6 / Maximum of 12 9 - 4 (early and late dropoff allowed)
MONDAY - Ground School
9:00 AM - Check In (Sign In Sheet / ID required) - Present students with folder of information, i.e., logbook, Syllabus for AeroCamp, coupon for free 6-month subscription to AOPA flight training magazine, Camp Tee-Shirt, etc.
9:30 AM - Introduction-What is General Aviation and Types of General Aviation Airplanes (Power Point Show)
10:00 AM - Safety Practices and Procedures / Aviation Speak (Worksheet)
11:00 AM - Parts of an Airplane (Worksheet and Power Point Show) / Flight Controls (Worksheet)
Noon - Lunch
1:00 PM - What makes an Airplane Fly / Build a Glider (Worksheet) - Have a Glider Contest
2:30 PM - Inside the Cockpit / What do those Instruments Mean (Power Point Show and Worksheet)
3:30 PM - What is involved with a Preflight Inspection of Aircraft (Use Checklist)
4:00 PM - Check Out (Sign Out Sheet / ID required)
TUESDAY - Ground School
9:00 AM - Check In (Sign In Sheet / ID required)
9:15 AM - Weather briefing (importance of checking weather and making a go/no go decision) HS: Leave for Cirrus Sim near RYY, Actual Flight Simulator Time in Full Motion Cirrus Sims ~10-15 minutes of Time logged in Flight Log Books (Checklist usage, engine startup, taxi, run-up, takeoff, pattern work, landings, shut down, checklist usage)
10:15 AM - Basic Radio communications
11:15 AM - What is a traffic pattern
12:00 PM - Lunch
1:00 PM - Actual Flight Simulator Time @ American Flyers - ~ 10-15 minutes of Time logged in Flight Log Books HS: Leave for Cirrus Sim near RYY, Actual Flight Simulator Time in Full Motion Cirrus Sims ~10-15 minutes of Time logged in Flight Log Books (Checklist usage, engine startup, taxi, run-up, takeoff, pattern work, landings, shut down, checklist usage)

3:15 AM - The ABC�s of Aviation (Worksheet)
4:00 PM - Check Out (Sign Out Sheet / ID required)
WEDNESDAY - Aviation Museum Tour Day (Parents please provide money for your children to purchase something)
9:00 AM - Check In (Sign In Sheet / ID required)
9:30 AM - Depart for Aviation Museum (Hold Harmless Forms need to be signed by parents) HS: Tour of PDK Airport tower (Max group of 6)
10:15 AM - Tour of National Commercial Aviation Museum
Noon - Lunch (At the Museum)
1:00 PM - Depart to PDK Airport HS: HS: Weather briefing (importance of checking weather and making a go/no go decision)
1:45 PM - Air Show Planes and Pilots

THURSDAY - Discovery Flights
9:00 AM - Check In (Sign In Sheet / ID required)
9:30 AM - Flight lesson - Engine startup, taxi, run-up, takeoff and area familiarization. (Consider using a four-seat aircraft when possible. Take two camp students per one instructor; each student receiving approximately 0.5 hours flight time; non-flying student observes from backseat.)
Noon - Lunch

FRIDAY - FAA FAAST Team / Discovery Flights
9:00 AM - Check In (Sign In Sheet / ID required)
9:30 AM - FAA FAAST Team member will present
10:00 AM - Make up flights due to weather
Noon - Lunch
2:00 PM- Debriefing session of days 1-4 (Have students complete evaluation forms, Question/Answer session, Some type of fun game to quiz students on what they learned throughout the week, Present students with AeroCamp completion certificate)
4:00 PM - Check Out (Sign Out Sheet / ID required)
